These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between you and us for the supply of services and constitute an agreement between you and us. Please ensure that you read and understand these Terms and Conditions because you will be bound by them.
"Us" means The Shinobi Academy
"Dojo Rules" means the rules and regulations governing the use of the Shinobi Academy
"Member" "you" and "your" means on-going junior, daily, weekly, monthly, and annually prepaid members
"Shinobi Academy Form" waiver form that all members must fill out before beginning a training program
"training program" means a Mixed Martial Arts training schedule that has been set out by the Shinobi Academy
There are 4 membership options available and entitles each member to full use of the dojo facilities in accordance with the package that they have chosen.
Shinobi PLATINUM – entitles the member to training 5 days a week, plus invitation only OPEN MAT on a Sunday
GOLD BJJ – entitles the member to training Mon, Wed only with Gi and no Gi respectively
GOLD MMA - entitles the member to training Tues, Thurs & Fri only
Shinobi ONE DAY - entitles the member to daily use of the dojo only. This option is suitable for holiday makers who have limited time and days to train
New members are advised to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts to fill out the Shinobi Academy form, and to speak with the chief instructor/s about the training program that they have signed up for. Anyone arriving while the class is underway will be told to return the next day.
Junior membership refers to anyone who is between and including the ages of 11 – 17.
Adult membership begins from 18 years onwards
Until there are enough attendees to warrant a separate class, all levels will train at the same time; juniors and beginners will only take part in the first hour of a 2-hour class in this instance.
You must fill out the Shinobi Academy form, and make known to us any injuries, medical conditions, however minor that would prevent you from taking part in all aspects of the training.
On entry into this Membership Agreement and every time you enter the dojo during your membership, you agree to inform Shinobi Academy that you have no medical conditions known to you that would mean that you are not capable of all forms of exercise, and that such exercise will not be detrimental to your health. If in doubt, it is your sole responsibility to consult a medical practitioner or to cancel your membership.
Your membership applies to you personally: you cannot lend, assign or transfer it to another person.
We reserve the right to make or change minor points or amendments in this Membership Agreement without notice to you.
We reserve the right to implement a waiting list at any time if we deem it necessary to do so.
Payment of membership
By completing the Shinobi Academy form and agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions; you agree to pay all Shinobi Academy membership and other fees on time.
In the instance of an enrolment onto a Shinobi Academy training camp or dojo hire by an international team/club – all fees must be paid prior to arrival date, whether by internet banking directly into the Shinobi Academy bank account or via our foreign exchange company Premier FX if paying in a non-Euro currency.
Weekly or monthly dojo membership fees must be paid in full in cash or by bank transfer by the start of the week or month that you are currently in.
Your fees are subject to change, however you will be given one-months notice if this is the case.
Training Camps – Shinobi or International club bookings
From month to month the Shinobi Academy may organise their own training camp, or hire the dojo out to an international MMA team/club. In this instance, regular members will be given 3 months notice of the camp timetable. If the times conflict with the regular dojo class times, the Shinobi Academy reserves the right to make alternative time slots.
Any member who wishes to take part in one of the Shinobi training camps may be subject to an additional fee over and above that of their weekly or monthly membership. Waiver of this fee will be at the discretion of the dojo chief instructor. Camps organized by an international team/club are only open to regular Shinobi members by permission of the camp coach.
Accommodation: if additional night’s accommodation is required before or after the dates of the training camp, it is the responsibility of the booking partner/individual to inform the Shinobi Academy in advance to avoid disappointment, as in particular during the medium to high seasons, said accommodation may or may not be available in addition to your check-in/out dates.
Facilities & Services
When you enter into the Shinobi Academy, you agree to treat and respect the equipment, facilities and services with care. Any member and/or non-member of the dojo who damages through negligence or who deliberately mis-uses any aspect of the academy will be subject to pay for the cost to replace or repair such item/s.
Opening hours are subject to change and we will normally provide 1 week’s written/verbal notice where reasonably applicable.
Shinobi Dojo Usage
You must familiarise yourself with our rules before you use the dojo. The rules are displayed in the reception and on the website. We may cancel or suspend your membership without notice if you break these rules.
You must wear appropriate clothes and shoes in the dojo, meaning correct training gear, that is clean.
Flip-flops must be worn from the changing room to the training floor, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE OUTDOOR SHOES TO BE WORN IN THE TRAINING AREAS. Training shoes that have only ever been worn indoors are allowed to be worn in the green and bag rooms. Please ensure the sole of which is free of debris. There is to be NO FOOTWEAR worn on the white or green mats at any time. Clean socks are permitted to be worn on the mats or bare footed. Please ensure your feet are clean before standing on the mat.
A towel must be carried at all times, and equipment must be wiped down after use, as must excessive body sweat.
Weights must not be dropped, and must be replaced after use.
Dojo equipment must be put back exactly as it was found, and in the case of gloves, shin guards, pads and kick shields, please wipe the equipment clean of sweat with the disinfectant provided.
Dojo equipment (excluding gi’s) will be provided for the first two weeks of training, after this it is mandatory that you purchase your own gloves (MMA and/or boxing), shin guards, and if sparring, head protection. This reduces the spread of bacteria and wear and tear on dojo equipment, which is for the sole use of beginners who do not have their own training gear to begin with. Please note: Groin & mouth guards are compulsory
You are responsible for ensuring that you know how to correctly operate or use any facilities and/or equipment (including adjusting levels or settings) which we provide. If you are in any doubt about how to correctly operate any equipment, you must consult a member of staff before use.
You must not behave in a violent, rude or threatening way or in a manner which distresses or causes discomfort to other members of the dojo or dojo staff.
Smoking is not allowed in any part of a dojo. Possession of alcohol, narcotics or other mood-altering substances is not permitted, neither is the use of the dojo while under the influence of any of these substances.
We may refuse admission to or ask you to leave the dojo if we reasonably believe that you have broken any section of this paragraph. No refund will be given if you are asked to leave the Shinobi Academy in such circumstances. If a refund is warranted, this will be at the discretion of the dojo owner.
Members must secure their personal belongings on their person or place and secure them at the reception desk whilst using a dojo’s facilities. Your property is left in the changing rooms entirely at your own risk. For this reason, the dojo door will be locked once the class has started, unless there is a member of the dojo staff permanently at the desk.
No gym bags are to be brought onto the training floor.
Water, if available in the fridge will be provided at the reception desk for a fee. All bottles must be collected up at the end of the session and not left on the training floor or in the changing rooms. The same applies to items of clothing. Any items left in the gym for longer than a week shall be thrown out.
The use of dojo towels, while not part of the service, may be borrowed, however they must be returned laundered.
Coffee, protein shakes/smoothies and juices are also available at the Shinobi Mini Bar and must be paid for before you leave the area. Money from such refreshments will be used to buy more stock. Please ensure cups and glasses are washed and returned to the reception after use.
Personal Trainers & Therapists
Personal Trainers and therapists operate in our dojo on a self-employed basis. Any service they provide to you constitutes a contract between the Personal Trainer/therapist and you rather than the Shinobi Academy. We accept no responsibility for breach of contract or negligence caused by a Personal Trainer/therapist. Any personal trainer/therapist and their client/s must adhere to the above rules. Their sessions are booked so as not to conflict, where possible, with normal dojo classes. Personal training/therapist sessions and the dojo must be booked 24 hours in advance.
Note: there is only one tank of water – everyone is entitled to have a hot shower after training, so please be respectful of your fellow dojo members during shower times. Washing of hair WILL NOT BE PERMITTED for this reason.
At the end of a training session, all lights and electrical equipment must be turned off and plugged out, this includes the water gauge outside the dojo. The fridge is the only item to be left on.
Failure to comply with any of the dojo rules will result in the suspension or cancellation of your membership or in the case of the personal trainer/therapist, use of the dojo.
We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule Shinobi Academy classes with 24 hours notice
We may cancel your membership without notice if you commit a material breach of this agreement including, but not limited to, a breach of the dojo rules, abuse or threatening behaviour or vandalism or other illegal activity.
